Holy June Bugs!

The wait is over and one little miss priss has decided to grace us with her incredibly sweet presence. The labor and delivery didn't exactly go as planned - but we sprung her loose and she's thriving. We actually think she might have been in there for 10 months - dragon lady fingernails, super muscle control and a conversational knowledge of Mandarin lead us to believe this is true. She was worth the wait. And the pain.

BOLILLOS break the streak!

Since I don't have any baby news to share I thought I'd share my hubby's own good news - The Bolillos kicked ass and took second place this season!! It was a close race for second, but the whiteys did it. Saturday was a long hot one for the team - 3 games had to be made up due to many games being rained out this spring. They pulled it off + played like real pros. Monday night was the final game against the undefeated 'Hustlers' - but guess who defeated them at their last big hurrah...? That's right - Bolillo Power!

This is the third season of kickball mania for Los Bolillos and it appears that the good times will keep on coming - summer season ahead!!! I will be sure to take more photos of actual team members and action this coming season.
These guys are taking the East Side by storm and deserve a little recognition. The trophies are a nice touch.

Since the chickens seem to have flown north for the summer we will now feature photos of some of our favorite kitties. Me + Boo (my original baby) and Paul + Mojo. What will the kitties think when there's a new kid on the block? I certainly hope we find out soon. Still all smiles over here regardless. Peace.

due day - june 8th

i know it'll happen soon enough, but the waiting is killing me - ! and soap operas really do suck. i even think oprah kinda sucks, but please don't tell her i said that.

we saw 'knocked up' last night + loved it. laughing is always a good thing. too bad it didn't work this freaking baby out, however. i think it may have worked her down though. this picture taken this morning really looks like she's 'dropped'. and movements attest to a shift for sures.

hoping at the very least this is a gradual easing into the whole labor thing. off to yoga to scare the other mommies to be ;)

the bathroom of our dreams

what didn't get improved in this bathroom? here's what takes 6 months when you diy your own crapper: new sink + faucet (moved from original location - plumbing + sheetrocking completed with uncle gary's help), new sink stand, new medicine cabinet, new non-midget sized toilet, new heavy duty cast iron tub + fixtures (which required paul to reinforce the walls where water had leaked with the old clawfoot), new fancy window in shower, subway tiles around tub + behind toilet + sink backsplash (thanks to ryah for learning us a thing or two and getting us started on the tiling project), new super cool black hexagonal tiles on floor, new baseboards + new coat of baby blue paint on the walls.

there are still a few finishing details that require our attention, but we're not sweating it. there will always be something, right? paul did a fantastic job on that bathroom + it was our last big-ish project for this house for a while. i am thrilled + absolutely love being in the bathroom now.

it was worth the few fleeting moments when i considered scraping it all and moving to vegas to fulfill my showgirl dreams. needless to say, this bathroom tested our relationship. and once again we prevailed with flying colors. paul rocks.
