by the by: june is wearing one of kyle's baby tees. when clearing out dad's house we found a box of baby clothes (his + mine). half don't fit june anymore (tears already cried) and the other half (kinda) is tops, dresses, bonnets, smocks sewn by my gammy for me! so fantastic to see these OLD OLD OLD clothes (30+ years) still in tact and being rocked by june june. i'll make note in upcoming posts when june's sporting some of my stylish threads. it'll be obvious. the 70's will never die.

in search of dolly: part II - when it rains...
the park near my mother's home has been there for quite a while. it's much different than when i was a child - no more mayor mc cheese clubhouse for example. but plenty of playscape fun for miss june bee. here are some photos of june having a sticky sweet time.

in search of dolly: part I
trip to mcallen/rio grande valley for 10 days included clearing out my dad's house + subsequent garage sale* as well as living through june's first hurricane (dolly: dirty whore, not really). on the way down we saw this field of sunflowers that we've seen on other trips. and we stopped for the photo op. such a lovely, unexpected vision.
the beast slept for a spell thankfully
*garage sales in the valley are a far different animal than they are in austin. my mom tried to warn me. professional flea market vendors raid garage sales EARLY and pressure you into selling before you're ready. our sale was to start at 8am at 7am we had a small crowd pacing in the driveway. at 7:30am i gave in and shouted out, "vamos a empezer"! attendees RAN towards the goods and immediately started piling their chosen wares in various nooks and crannies. it was overwhelming and amazing.
odds & ends
fourth of july
for the fourth we went to krause springs and grelle lcra park. the last time we were at grelle was when my water broke oh so long ago. june loves this place - it made her want to be born....finally ;) this was a perfect day - breezy and temperate - made us wish we'd brought camping gear. still a little scared to see how camping (i.e. falling asleep) would be for joonboon. afterward we headed back to town and rode down to 1st st bridge for fireworks. june was much more interested in working the crowd than zoning out on the fireworks. we left before the finale.

hill behind us was where the amniotic spring was sprung

we're now entering the fun zone
party revisted
june is lucky enough to have many lovely, fun friends. here are the ones that made it to her party:

aren't these babies just the sweetest squishiest babies ever? i'm so happy whenever i get to see any one of them. and i'm so happy to know their mamas - you girls have been so helpful, inspirational, and fun to spend time with over the last year+ i often wonder what raising june would have been like if i didn't have such a wonderful circle of mommies to query and vent to. thank you mamas! love to you all!
